Jubilee Year launch - Pilgrims of Hope - January 24th 2025
Date: 26th Jan 2025 @ 11:42am
Our school community came together for an amazing launch for the very special Jubilee Year.
A Jubilee is celebrated within the Catholic church every 25 years. This year the theme will be 'Pilgrims of Hope'.
We are called together to experience joy and strength as we embarkon a journey to be 'agents of change,' working together for justice, love and peace, locally and globally.
After learning about the importance and theme of the Jubilee, the children across school have Celebrated the Word and written their own pledges.
We gathered together to reflect and share pledges before displaying them all around the hall.
We are excited for more events to come during the Jubilee Year and are filled with hope for the difference we can make in fulfilling our pledges!
Rainbow Unit- Spring Term Week 3
Date: 24th Jan 2025 @ 4:03pm
This week we have stuck to our busy busy timetables. The children have taken part in bucket therapy, they are getting so much better at sitting for the short duration and giving lots of eye contact!
In the blue classroom we have been consistently using the communication boards during different activities. The children are fleetingly noticing us using these but as time goes on, the children may start to use these independently. We have been continuing on our animal theme, making animal sounds and we have started the story of the three little pigs!
In the yellow classroom, we have been doing lots of activities that include colours and shapes. The children have been working 1-1 with an adult and have been sorting real life pictures into the correct colours with some children even practicing saying the names of the colours. We have also been using the shape sorter to place the shapes through the correct hole. The children have had lots of fun doing this and have shown great persistence skills when they haven’t managed to get it correct first time around. We have been continuing to use our communication boards in every activity and some children have managed to communicate ‘I want more’ using this.
Have a lovely weekend- keep safe in the winds!

Rainbow Unit- Spring Term Week 2
Date: 17th Jan 2025 @ 4:40pm
It has been a busy week for the children in the Rainbow unit. The children have all done really well with getting back into our daily routines and following our objects of reference.
They have all enjoyed playing outside again and mixing with the children from other parts of the school, even trying out some of the new playground equipment that has been out for this half term.
In our classrooms, we have introduced lots of new cause and effect toys which the children have loved exploring. We have seen lots of anticipation skills being shown when using these. We have also introduced a role play area where there is a kitchen and some toy food which the children have loved playing with. They have been practising their fine motor skills, using a toy knife to cut some of the food in half (it is attached by Velcro!)
We have continued to develop our fine motor skills by practising bead threading and using the peg boards to make patterns. Some children were able to follow the pattern and use the exact same colours as what was on their card. Others created their own patterns in whatever way they wanted.
We hope you have a lovely weekend!

What an amazing week we’ve had in school!
The children have surprised us so much on how well they have settled into “big school” and returned to school!
Although they are still very independent in how they play they are accepting their new friends to be in their space and play alongside them, which we are so proud of them for!
This week we have continued to explore our setting, playing with new toys and getting familiar with all adults.
Today has been our first full day and what a lovely day the children have had, they have coped amazingly, sticking to our jam packed timetable of learning and fun!

The children have coped very well with the snack time and the lunch hall too! All sitting whilst eating!
With it being our first full day, we have started in our new classes. We have sent you all a message today letting you know what class your children are in!
